MORE HIGH-END TECHNOLOGY FOR CARTAGENA’S PUBLIC HOSPITALS

The Public Health System will undergo a comprehensive overhaul of its 25 operating theatres in both Cartagena public hospitals (Santa Lucía and Rosell).

The refurbishment will incorporate the use of high-end technology and computer systems that will increase the number and the complexity of future operations. As a consequence, it will reduce the waiting time and the current waiting lists.

Rosell hospital will also provide new and extended ophthalmology operating facilities to cover higher demand due to the continuous ageing of the population.
The work in Rosell hospital should be completed this summer. After that, work will start in Santa Lucía hospital.

This technology will enable surgeries to be broadcast live to other hospitals within the country, and will facilitate and greatly improve the training of new doctors. These new installations will be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology in Europe.
